Murray Trail (Muzza) has worked in video and photo production for 12 years, with a strong background in adventure and expedition camera work. He is involved in most Active Focus projects and sees them from planning and development to post production and streaming. His outgoing attitude, lively outlook and professional manner makes him a major spoke in the Active Focus wheel.
Richard Steel has been with us for over 2 years. He has recently just won the Edinburgh Mountain Film Festival with his short film ‘gravity chasers’. With a positive outlook, merits in advanced non-linear editing techniques and a creative and ambitious approach to his work, Richard has proved to play a very important role in the success of Active Focus. While being a dedicated filmmaker and photographer, with images in various magazines, such as BBC countryfile, he still manages to find time to train in martial arts and teach break dancing classes throughout Scotland.
Chris Wain (waingroover) has been involved in visual art and graphics for 10 years, from web design and multi media graphics through to illustration and logo design. Involved in a lot of the behind the scenes work at Active Focus – from layout and promotional design to webvideo construction and programming. Original ideas and designs keep him and Active Focus a step ahead of the rest.
Marieke McBean is a journalist and photographer based in Edinburgh and Loch Tayside. At Active Focus she covers all aspects of our adventure and events photo programme. She also works covering Scottish life for a number of different British and Dutch magazines. When she’s not photographing it’s likely you will find her and her husband working on a barn conversion which will ultimately be their new home in Perthshire.
Mike Dawnay is Perthshire based and works in our adventure photographic team. As well as being a photographer over the past twenty years he has developed his business in Wales and Scotland guiding fishing and shooting parties. Articles by and about him, along with his photographs, have featured in many field sports magazines. When not working, he concentrates upon writing, wildlife photography and training working dogs.
Graham Kocjan, a keen Photoshoper, hill walker and climber, joined the Active Focus team in Nov'06 and is based at the Braehead Climbzone in Glasgow. He studied at Glasgow College of Building and Printing and has been a passionate photographer for 15 years, specialising in landscape and sports photography.
